Slifer Smith & Frampton’s reputation rests on how it represents exceptional homes in Colorado’s resort markets. New marketing technology has to earn its place in that work. Faster production is useful only if the result belongs alongside everything else the brokerage puts its name on.
For Sara Roberts, Vice President of Digital Innovation, that was the standard Home Stories had to meet. After more than 20 years with the firm, she knew both the expectations of its luxury clients and the practical demands on its marketing team.
Home Stories offered a way to create narrated property films from existing photography, with a creative team responsible for the finish. Roberts saw the possibility immediately: “When I saw this, I realized that this was an easy button.”

Make exceptional marketing easier to deliver
Video had been a relatively small part of Slifer’s brokers’ marketing. Each production brought a cost, a schedule and another visit to the property. Photography was already part of their routine; a video shoot was another project to coordinate.
Home Stories started with the material they already had. Brokers uploaded their photos and received a finished video with narration and cinematic effects. Roberts says adoption came quickly once they understood how little the process required of them.
She describes the production as taking a fraction of the previous cost and time. That made a more ambitious treatment of a listing practical: the photographs could become a story, with a voice and a pace, without the broker arranging a separate shoot.

Creative judgment protects the brand
The ease of production opened the door. The quality of the work made Home Stories a partner Slifer’s marketing team could keep building with.
Roberts singles out “the human in the loop” and “that high quality, especially the luxury feel.” Those are connected requirements. A luxury brokerage needs people who can interpret a brief, develop an idea and judge whether the result meets the brand’s standards.
Slifer’s marketing team brings its ideas to Home Stories and helps shape the work. Home Stories contributes its own creative direction, giving the team more to work with than its original request.
“Our marketing team is supported and our ideas are heard,” Roberts says.
That relationship keeps the brokerage’s judgment involved as the technology changes. Slifer can explore new ways to present a property with a creative counterpart who understands the level of finish the work requires.

Give a development a story before it breaks ground
For a new development, marketing begins before there is a finished home to photograph. The sales team needs to help buyers understand what is being created while the project still exists as plans and renderings.
Home Stories turns those renderings into narrated films that introduce the development and the life it could offer. Slifer’s team can start telling that story “long before the hole is dug in the ground,” as Roberts puts it.

The capability gives development sales teams material to work with at launch. Developers can see their projects presented with motion and storytelling while construction is still ahead of them.
“Our development sales teams have really leaned into the technology,” Roberts says. Developers, too, have welcomed how promptly Slifer’s marketing team can produce this work. What began as an easier way to create property video has become part of how the firm introduces new developments.
Keep moving as the technology changes
For the person responsible for digital innovation, each new AI capability brings a decision: where will it make the work better, and how will the team use it?
Roberts now has a partner to work through those decisions with. Home Stories brings creative ideas to the collaboration and explains the thinking behind its tools, including the role of voice and storytelling in property marketing.
“They take it a step further, are able to bring their creativity to the table.”

That exchange gives Roberts something she can carry back to the brokerage. She can explain what a new capability adds to the marketing and why it is worth using. “It helps me articulate that value to our agents and our customers.”
For Slifer, the relationship combines the freedom to try new ideas with the creative attention a luxury brand requires. For Roberts, it also changes the experience of keeping up with AI: she has a team helping her decide what to do with it.
What this means for a brokerage
Make adoption practical.
Start with the photography brokers already have. A simpler process gives them a reason to use video on their next listing.
Keep the brand in the brief.
Treat creative collaboration and the quality of the finish as requirements when choosing an AI partner.
Plan beyond existing listings.
Bring development renderings into the conversation early, so the sales team has a story to work with before construction.
